(Map with some pale spotting, some other occasional pale spotting, mostly in the margins, generally very clean and crisp.) Contemporary speckled calf (skillfully rebacked to match, some light wear at extremities).

FIRST EDITION. Sauer was Captain Billing's secretary and this volume is the fullest account of their voyage. The expedition to Russia visited Kodiak, Montague Island and Prince William Sound and marked the close of the Russian surveys on the eastern coast of Siberia.
