A late Regency or William IV mahogany and brass inlaid quarter-chiming bracket clock, second quarter 19th century
The arched case with gilt-brass pineapple finial to a stepped top with cut-brass and silk-backed sound panels, ring handles to the sides issuing from wreath mounts, above rectangular sound frets with lozenge-shaped brass frets, the front inlaid with cut brass and with ripple-moulded gallery above the base, on ball feet, the white painted circular dial with strike/silent above XII and signed Thwaites & Reed Clerkenwell LONDON, with steel crescent moon hands, the triple gut fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter-chiming on eight nested bells and with hour strike on further bell, shouldered plates with engraved border and repeat signature -- 23in. Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Friday following the sale and every week-day from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Please note that there will be no charge to purchasers who collect their lots within one week of the sale.
On the Thursday, one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
