Circa 1750, the contemporary mounts with a décharge of Julien Berthe, Paris, 1750-56
Modelled as a pug-dog to the left with brown fur, black muzzle and pink-lined ears, biting his back and recumbent on a green-washed oval mound, the cover painted with loose bouquets and flower-sprays
