A short-sleeved leotard of candy pink knitted jersey, the neckline with drawstring detail, decorated at the waist with a deep panel of ribbed stitching; a matching pair of footless tights; three further pairs of knitted footless tights, two pink, one navy; a pair of baby pink woollen legwarmers; and an assortment of pink 'silk' ballet tights; accompanied by three photographs of Fonteyn rehearsing, one taken in Singapore in the 1960s, the other two by Ron Burton of Fonteyn at The Royal Ballet School, one dated on the reverse Jan.1969, largest -- 11¾x9¾in. (30.2x25.2cm.); the lower half of a tutu, the skirt of layers of two shades of pink stiffened tulle with scalloped edges (lacks waistband); the lower half of an unfinished ballet dress, the skirt of layers of white stiffened tulle with scalloped edges (lacks waistband); and the lower half of a ballet dress, the skirt of fine ivory tulle over layers of ivory stiffened tulle with scalloped edges, the interior waistband inscribed in blue ballpoint pen RUANNE; and four pairs of pink satin ballet shoes by Freed, London, the soles stamped with manufacturer's details and size 4, one pair additionally inscribed in blue ballpoint pen in an unidentified hand Fonteyn (three pairs in excellent condition with little or no sign of wear, one pair worn); and related material (a lot)
