Two pairs of pink satin ballet shoes, both by Freed, London, both with soles stamped with manufacturer's details and size 4, one pair inscribed in an unidentified hand in red ballpoint pen Fonteyn and initialled in black ballpoint pen, probably by Fonteyn, S.B. to denote the ballet Sleeping Beauty and initialled in black pen, probably by Fonteyn, L or R to denote left or right foot, the right sole additionally inscribed in black soft (well worn); the other pair similarly inscribed in red ballpoint pen Fonteyn, in black N.G. and S.B. to denote Sleeping Beauty, additionally initialled in blue, L or R to denote left and right foot (worn); and a colour reproduction of Fonteyn as Princess Aurora on stage at the Kirov Theatre, Leningrad, 1961, printed later -- 7x8in.
