The "S"-form fire box embellished by cast "S" scrolls flanking the central tripartite arch with trefoil design, the whole decorated with Gothic motifs including stylized urns and torches, pointed arches, shells and heraldic shields, topped by a pierced oval basket and set on a trilobed apron with recessed ash pit and circular draft control, supported on ornamented feet, the body bearing the maker's relief-cast inscription Wager, Richmond & Smith Troy N.Y., the apron,the model name Lion No 3
