LA PALAZZA
The farming property "La Palazza" lies on the gentle slopes of the hills surrounding Massa di Vecchiazzano. Of its 26 hectares of land, 16 are cultivated as specialised vineyards. The land, in the hands of the Drei Dona family since 1930, has undergone a radical transformation on the arrival of the present owner, Dr. Claudio Drei Dona, who has dedicated his efforts entirely to the property, guiding its activities with decisiveness towards increasingly high objectives. Between the roles of vine-grower and wine-producer, he chooses to indulge in the former, supporting his belief that good wine is borne in the vine. His working philosophy sustains the view that quality is the minimal launching base from which to aim for excellence.
New wines have been introduced on the farm : Sangiovese, Trebbiano and Albana but also Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling Renano. By lowering the yield per hectare and utilizing grapes produced exclusively on the farm, in order to further improve the quality of the wine he has sought the advice of one of Italy's best and most highly-esteemed wine-makers, Franco Bernabel. This explains the use of modern technology and the casks, which provide an enhanced elegance in the red wines.
