LUCIANO SANDRONE
Modernist cult winemaker Luciano Sandrone honed his winemaking techniques during his tenure as enologist and consultant with the renowned Marchesi di Barolo. In 1970 he began producing his own wine in his spare time, parting ways with the Marchesi in the early 1990s to concentrate on building his own small estate. The extraordinarily complex and lush bouquet of a Sandrone Barolo never promises more than it delivers on the palate. The wines are beautifully balanced, rich, generous and elegant. Sandrone produces two Barolos from his tiny holdings in Barolo, Monforte, and Serralunga : a single-vineyard Cannubi Boschis and a blend, Le Vigne. These two wines are among the most sought-after Barolos internationally and are among the rarest as his production is miniscule.
This stunning vertical of Sandrone's Barolo Cannubi features one bottle of every vintage produced since 1985. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity. "Sandrone has been performing at a superstar level since the 1982 vintage". Robert Parker.
