A Japanese ivory okimono of a lady
19th Century, signed on red lacquer tablet to base
carved standing wearing long flowing decorated robes and elaborate headdress, holding a fan in her hand, on an oval base -- 5½in. (14cm.) high; an ivory figure of a musician playing a samizan, wearing long robes with a frog on top of his head, beside a small basket -- 5in. (12.6cm.) high; and another ivory carving of a man with a maiden floating above his shoulders, on an oval base, signed -- 6in. (15.3cm.) high, (minor restoration).
