THE FIRM OF PHILIP AND SON WAS FOUNDED IN 1834, AT WHICH TIME IT WAS PUBLISHING GLOBES FOR MALBY. IT LATER BEGAN TO PRODUCE GLOBES UNDER ITS OWN NAME AND CONTINUES TO BE A MAJOR PUBLISHER OF MAPS AND ATLASES.
