Decorated in coloured slip with ivy vine suspending cobalt-blue ground medallions depicting paired putti holding garlands, fishing and sleeping among clouds, the shoulder with diamond-shaped Bacchic portrait medallions

Lot Essay
Lawrence Birks, cousin of Alboin Birks, was one of Solon's first apprentices and is recorded at the Minton factory until 1894 when he left to start up his own pottery.
