Superbly cast seated in 'Royal Ease' on a double-lotus base with beaded rims and additional leaf border, resting the right hand on the rim of the base with outstretched fingers and holding a lotus flower, with another lotus flower on the opposite side issuing from the base and rising up to his shoulder, his left hand raised and holding the book of wisdom, wearing a long dhoti elegantly draped and secured with a sash suspending beaded festoons, beaded necklaces and armlets, his face slightly lowered in a benign expression flanked by large roundels in the pendulous lobes, a foliate tiara concealing an effigy of Buddha Amitabha, incised at the front of the base with a six-character Yongle mark, richly gilt overall, base sealed

As a unique feature, the base incorporates an added leaf frieze. While this is likely based on Tibetan prototypes, it is rare in that context as well; compare to a fourteenth century bronze of a Dakini from the Lingero Collection, cf. J. van Goidsenhoven, Art Lamaique, Art des Dieux, 1970, p. 117. The right hand resting on the base with elegantly articulated fingers is equally notable.
