A Gilt Bronze Figure of Amitayus
Tibeto-Chinese, 18th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with beaded rim with his hands in dhyana mudra flanked by a flaring sash, wearing elaborate robes with incised foliate borders and beaded jewelry inset with hardstones, his face gently modeled in a serene expression with downcast eyes, aquiline nose and bow-shaped lips flanked by large disk-shaped earrings with foliate pendants, his hair arranged in a topknot surmounted by a jeweled cintamani, with loose strands falling at his shoulders and decorated with a foliate tiara, base sealed
