A similar collection of press and other photographic images, circa 1906-1910, including images of the sad remains of the Patrie, the wreckage being recovered from a muddy farmyard, and the envelope draped over trees; a photograph of the first flight of Ville de Paris, others of military manoeuvres and handling, various uniforms of different French regiments, and the social element behind this unusual activity, an atmospheric image of the Patrie, before its accident, over the trees of the Champs Elysées; the dirigible Jaune by Lebaudy, an interesting view of hydrogen gas bottles on their horsedrawn wagon carriers, the Suchard, the Clement Bayard, the Marçay, the Liberte, Malécot and others (70 approx. contained in ringbinder)

Lot Essay

Included in this lot are some interesting heavily retouched (as was practised at the time) images of gondola details of the Lebaudy 'Jaune', which show the extensive use of bracing and other tensioning wires, the complexity of which makes the mind boggle!
