A wood and metal, hand operated, display model of the Newcomen Pumping Engine originally erected at Hawkesbury Canal Junction in 1821
and modelled by R. Cocks 1964, with cylinder 1¼in. bore x 3in. stroke, gear, plug rod and lever operated inlet and water valves, wooden beam supported on 'A' frames, pump rod and sluice, hot well, condensate tank and rod driven pump, the whole mounted on a planked wooden floor with simulated brick end wall (of house) and underfloor works, wood plinth containing the hand operating system. Measurements overall -- 25 x 19¼in. (63.5 x 49cm.). Framed historical notes.
