An unusual presentation Smoker's Compendium in the form of a 5in. gauge L&NWR planked coal wagon
with iron wheels and axles, simulated planking with riveted bracing and chassis, all of oak, the coal load hinged and with lock and key opening to reveal compartmented interior to contain cigarettes, matches, etc. finished in oiled wood lettered in white L&NWR, 4327 the chassis side frame stamped Rd 230537, metal plate engraved Presented to W. Rawes by his past and present staff on the occasion of his retirement Penrith 1901, oak mount --8 x 14in. (20.3 x 35.5cm.)
