An exhibition standard 5in. gauge model of the District Railway 4-4-0 Beyer Peacock condensing side tank locomotive No. 27
originally built by D.G. Sutcliffe and refurbished and superdetailed by M. Frost, with silver soldered copper boiler with single superheater tube and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety valves with spring balances, blower, injector, clack and blowdown valves. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson's link reverse, double bar crosshead guides, cab controlled draincocks, mechanical lubricator, eccentric driven double feed pump and bypass, dummy sanding gear, hand operated brake gear with wooden brake blocks, injector, tank balance pipe and condenser pipes with dummy valves. Further details include working leaf springs with compensating links to bogie and coupled axles, dummy tank level gauges and oil boxes, wooden cab floor, oak buffer beam, riveting, steps, hand and lamp irons, lamps and routeboards, finished in correct D.R. livery and lining --14 x 34in. (35.5 x 86.5cm.)
