A French gilt-brass grande sonnerie carriage clock, circa 1885
The pillars case with engine-turned gilt-brass mask applied with a rose-gilt monogram below the recessed dial, painted Roman chapters, blued steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat on two gongs to the backplate stamped for Drocourt and numbered 15941, with three position sonnerie adjustment lever to the underside and inscription DROCOURT Carriage Clock maker Rue Debelleyme 28 Paris and repeat number, case re-gilt -- 6in. (15.5cm.) high
