The pillars case with painted porcelain side panels decorated with figures emblematic of the seasons, a young girl harvesting a basket of fruit beside an old man beneath a naked bough, a woman with her child beside a bearded gentleman standing below a leafy branch, the plain gilt mask with retailer's signature MACKAY & CHRISOLM PARIS, with recessed Roman dial and blued steel hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat on gong to the backplate numbered 1186 -- 4¾in. (12cm.) high
