A Victorian mahogany and brass-inlaid striking bracket clock, mid 19th century
The case with stepped and chamfered top, ripple moulded cornices, with unusual recessed brass handles to the sides above fish scale sound frets, applied brass strips to the chamfered front angles and and front door with brass inlay, on bun feet, the silvered dial with Roman chapter ring, signed James McCabe ROYAL EXCHANGE London 2859, later moon hands, with strike/silent ring to the arch above, the twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, repeat signature to the backplate, also with pendulum holdfast -- 17¼i9n. (44cm.) high
