A Regency mahogany stick barometer, circa 1820
The case with broken arch pediment, hinged front door, the trunk with thumb nail mouldings and ebony and satinwood line inlay, the moulded cistern cover (chipped loss to top) centred by a bone bull's eye ring, the silvered dial with mercury thermometer and Vernier scale, signed Gattely & Co. No.81 Holborn (G partially cut away, later tube) -- 38¼in. (97cm.) high
