The mahogany-veneered case of arched form and with glazed rectangular side panels, on stepped plinth with central panel, with silvered beat scale to the backboard signed R.N. Pickering LONDON, with wooden mask around the silvered 11in. diameter dial of regulator format and with blued steel hands (unsigned), within a silvered bezel, the movement with four substantial pillars, spot finished plates, dead beat escapement and Harrison's maintaining power, partially jewelled train with screwed in chatons, wheels with six crossings, secured to a metal bracket mounted on the backboard, the latter also with suspension for the mercury pedulum, with off set barrel to the inside of the case for the gut lines, single brass weight; movement and dial late 19th century and associated to later case and pendulum -- 76½in. (194cm.) high
