This Qur'an has very fine and slightly unusual illumination. The opening bifolio with sura al-fatiha and the opening verses of sura al-baqara are surrounded by a border of illuminated crenellation. The following bifolio with continuation of sura II has more freely drawn but no less elaborate illumination. The closing two bifolios which contain prayers are similarly illuminated.
