TWO UMAYYAD CARVED BONE PANELS
Syria or Mesopotamia, circa 8th Century
Each of rounded rectangular form, the upper surface carved with a central column dividing two rows of scrolling tendrils terminating in bunches of grapes or in leafy arabesques, one panel with two large flaring leaves above, one damaged along one side, mounted on red velvet covered board
The larger 5 1/8in. (13cm.) high
