The spherical bead with upper and lower collar inscribed in very elegant benedictory kufic inlaid with black composition around the middle, very slight loss of composition
5/16in. (0.9cm.) high

Lot Essay

This exquisite small bead is very similar in execution to a miniature wallet attibutable to tenth century Persia in the al-Sabah Collection (Jenkins, Marilyn: Islamic Art in the Kuwait National Museum, London, 1983, p.33).
