A MYCENAEAN PAINTED POTTERY STIRRUP FLASK CIRCA 1400-1300 B.C.
The body decorated with brown encircling bands of various widths, chevrons around the shoulder, 4 3/8 in. (11.2 cm.) high; another similar, of more biconical form, dotted circles around the shoulder, repaired, 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high; a squat alabastron with orange-red encircling bands on body, neck and base, three handles on carinated shoulder, 2 5/8 in. (6.8 cm.) high; a painted pottery chalice, the shallow bowl with four handles around the rim, standing on stemmed flared foot, decorated with encircling bands and single zigzag line of red and orange-brown, rays around the rim, 3¼ in. (8.3 cm.) high; and a spouted dish, two small handles at the rim, decorated with encircling dark brown lines, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high, all circa 1400-1300 B.C. (5)
