A FINE WHITE JADE MOUNTAIN BOULDER
18TH CENTURY
The rocky mountain boulder modelled in an irregular columnar form, pierced and deeply carved in the round, one side depicting a waterfall behind a winding foot path interspersed with figures, the foot of the mountain detailed with a heron, its head turned towards its companion in flight above, beside a fruiting peach tree emerged from overhanging craggy rocks, the reverse with pine and wutong trees, the material of even tone with small areas of opaque white inclusions
