Maker's mark A.St in rectangular field; head of the goddess Diana, state mark for the years 1867- 1922 with the letter A (Vienna) and the 3 silver mark, Vienna, probably last quarter 19th Century
The arched open backplate in the form of a crowned canopy, embossed and chased with a scrolled foliage, a free-standing peacock in his pride applied in the centre, fronted by a detachable row of eight vase-shaped oil-burners, set on a bar, on a rectangular base with curved sides and five scrolled foliage supports, fitted with a matching vase-shaped servant-light on a foliate curved stem
