Signed Montandon, Locle, circa 1880
With nickel-finished lever movement, 35 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf's tooth winding, repeating on two hammers, gold cuvette, the cream translucent guilloché enamel dial with blue enamel Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, gilt Louis XVI hands, surrounded by applied polychrome enamel jacquemarts striking the bells apparently in unison with the repeating, all on blued metal background, in heavy circular case with engraved scroll, foliage and star decoration to both sides, engraved floral decorated band and bow, repeating slide in the band, together with an associated heavy 18K three colour gold chain, the links depicting various trophies, an 18K pink gold anchor-shaped locket with an applied varicoloured gold trophy, the locket with a glazed cartouche containing hair, cuvette signed
