Lot Essay

Major R.H. Isacke served in the Hazara Campaign of 1888 and in the Second Boer War. In the latter conflict he took part in the Battles of Belmont, Enslin, Modder River and Magersfontein. During the Great War Isacke was employed on the Staff and in other capacities, during which period he was wounded and Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 22.6.1915 refers).
