AN EMBROIDERED PICTURE
ENGLISH, CIRCA 1920
worked in coloured silks in petit point with the personification of Hope, identified by her attribute of an anchor, within a landscape with cherries, strawberries, birds, insects, a rabbit, large scale flowers, a stag and a leopard--10½ x 15½in. (26 x 39cm.), in the style of 17th century needlework pictures on silk, one square inch to the top right remains unfinished, still on the needlework frame, possibly the work of Lady Richmond
