A French ormolu-mounted kingwood and amaranth bureau plat
In the Louis XV Style, in the manner of Charles Cressent, Late 19th Century
The rectangular top with rounded corners, inset with a gilt-tooled red leather writing surface, above an undulating frieze inset with a central drawer and a drawer flanking each side, each lock-plate impressed DENY -PARIS 25 BREVETTE S.C.D.G, the reverse with three apparent drawers, on square shaped cabriole legs, each headed by an espagnolette caryatid, on foliate-cast paw feet
73 in. (185.5 cm.) wide; 31¼ in. (71.3 cm.) high; 36 in. (91.5 cm.) deep
