![[MAP]. FLOWN Gemini 5 Orbital Path Display Assembly. Approx. 8 x 13 in. A two-sided map with a translucent plastic cover that has pre-printed orbit plots designed to rotate around the chart to update the current flight position. Labeled with CF55057-2 (part number) and Ser(ial) No. 50. The map was carried in the stowage pouch mounted on the spacecraft center pedestal wall during the flight. The rotating plastic cover allowed the crew to find their exact position for a four-orbit period with orbit numbers updated by hand. Past orbit numbers were erased as the eight-day flight progressed. Entries for orbits 115, 116, 117, 118, with spacing to allow a rotational shift showing entries for orbits 118, 119, 120 and 121 are clearly visible as written by Charles Conrad during the flight. Because of poor weather conditions at the planned 122-1 landing area (orbit 122, zone 1), mission control decided to return Gemini 5 one orbit early and land at area 121-1. That information "121-](https://www.christies.com/img/LotImages/2001/NYE/2001_NYE_08521_0036_000(025253).jpg?w=1)

That information "121-1" and "29.43 N 68.00 W" (coordinates of prime recovery ship at the center of 121-1) is still on the back of the map as logged by Conrad during the mission. Other flight data is also recorded on the map. Unique. INSCRIBED WITH FLIGHT TITLES AND SIGNED BY GORDON COOPER AND CHARLES CONRAD on the map front. [With:] Typed letter signed by Cooper describing use of this map during the flight and copies of drawings showing stowage area and the Gemini 5 recovery area. (3)
