A SWISS ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX
Geneva, circa 1780, with prestige marks, struck with inventory number 55
Oval box, the guilloché panels on cover, sides and base coated with translucent mauve enamel and bordered with opaque white enamel bands, the lid centred with an oval enamel plaque painted with a young lady guiding blindfolded Cupid, within a border of translucent red enamel berries alternating with translucent green enamel bands on a matted gold band, the matted gold borders and side pilasters applied with red and white enamelled flowerheads and translucent green and red enamelled trailing foliage and berries
