A SWISS PARCEL-ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX
maker's mark 'LFT', Geneva, circa 1800, further prestige marks, struck with the Viennese duty mark of 1806/1807
Octagonal box, the engine-turned gold panels on cover, sides and base decorated with vertical stripes of horizontal reeding alternating with narrower stripes of vertical reeding, within fluted edges, the borders enamelled in translucent blue embellished with gold and green paillons flanked by opaque white enamel bands, the sides of the canted corners enamelled with gold vases of flowers hung with green drapery in colour paillons
