Geneva, circa 1780, with prestige marks including maker's mark 'PG' a crown above and two kite-shaped marks containing a fleur-de-lys
Slightly tapering étui-à-cire of oval section, both sides of cover and base finely enamelled en plein with scènes champêtres depicting Rococo children at various rural pursuits, framed by polished gold c-scrolls enclosing floral garlands, the reeded borders engraved with chevrons, plain gold rims, the convex cap engraved with a scalloped border framing an oval reserve engraved with a flowerspray on a matted ovolo, blank matrix
