woodcut, 1919, on wove paper, first state (of two) before the removal of the dark area beneath the feet of the woman on the right, a fine, black impression, signed and dated in pencil, signed by the printer F. Voigt in pencil and inscribed 'gedr.', from the edition of 40, published in 'Elf Holzschnitte, 1912-1919, Erich Heckel bei J.B. Neumann', Berlin, 1921, with wide margins, one or two soft creases in the margins, a skinned area at the reverse sheet corners, generally in very good condition
