As the flower painting on the covers does not appear to be by the same hand as the painting on the bowls, the description should read: TWO SEVRES SUGAR-BOWLS ON FIXED STANDS AND TWO COVERS.

The present model was produced both with and without a spoon notch in the cover.

Vincent Taillandier, recorded 1753-1790 as a painter of flowers and ground patterns.

Jean-Jacques Pierre, recorded 1763-1800 as a painter of flowers, patterns and as a gilder.
