Each painted in colours with loose bouquets and scattered flowers within a blue-line and gilt-dash band and gilt dentil rim

As the flower painting on the covers does not appear to be by the same hand as the painting on the bowls, the description should read: TWO SEVRES SUGAR-BOWLS ON FIXED STANDS AND TWO COVERS.

Lot Essay

The present model was produced both with and without a spoon notch in the cover.

Vincent Taillandier, recorded 1753-1790 as a painter of flowers and ground patterns.

Jean-Jacques Pierre, recorded 1763-1800 as a painter of flowers, patterns and as a gilder.
