A 4-inch (10.1cm.) diameter terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two small polar calottes, the equatorial and equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic not shown, the oceans showing ocean currents, the continents coloured strongly in outline in red, orange, yellow and pale green and showing numerous details of rivers, moutnains, towns and cities, raised on a short wire arm to ebonised baluster-turned column and plinth base with small inset glazed compass with blued-steel needle -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high
