A fine and elegant early 19th-Century gilt-brass, silver and ivory orrery
unsigned, the gilt-brass sunball with six rotating planet arms with ivory planetballs, earth with one ivory moonball on an arm, Jupiter with four moonballs, saturn with a ring and five moonballs, tunring from the centre of a 7-inch (17.8cm.) diameter horizon plate, the centre with five elegantly and simply engraved constellation figures, encircled by the sigils for the houses of the Zodiac and the initials for the months of the year I, F, M, A, M, I, I, A, S, O, N, D, laid on a drum-shaped mahogany support atop a baluster turned column and circular plinth base -- 11½in. (29.2cm.) high
