A fine and rare 6-inch (15.2cm.) diameter moon globe made up of twleve lithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equator graduated in degrees 0-90 twice around half the sphere, with numerous craters shown in grey and numbered, the seas and oceans of the Moon shown by dotted stippling, the "dark" side of the moon with no geographical features shown, instead a table of the 343 numbered craters with names, and a table of Principaux Eléments comprising details about the size and orbit of the moon, raised on a turned ebonised column and plinth base -- 11¾in. (29.9cm.) high
