Lot Essay

Workington is situated on the North Cumbrian coast, between Maryport and Whitehaven. A similar composition, dated 1956, was exhibited at the Royal Academy, L.S. Lowry, R.A. 1997-1976, September-November 1976, no. 99 (incorrectly dated 1930).
