A SET OF EIGHT GEORGE III MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS INCLUDING A PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS, IN THE HEPPLEWHITE STYLE
With serpentine moulded arched backs with pierced Gothic vase splats with beaded ornament with slip-in serpentine seats on moulded square tapered legs joined by H-stretchers, the armchairs with shaped stylised foliate moulded outswept arm supports, inscribed in ink under the seat on one of the armchairs 'These were in the Fryer family of Worcester and giveen to my father Alfred Spencer when Mrs Fryer died about 1900. New wood in seats and covered by jute and cotton by Ralph Johnson Bridge St Warrington, May 1933' (8)
