Small 4°, folding engraved frontispiece portrait, engraved topographical vignette on title, and engraved double-page pedigree (the engravings browned), contemporary gilt-panelled red morocco (spine rubbed, old stains on covers), g.e. Provenance: Gosford-Roseberry copy, with a contemporary note of purchase at "Gosford Sale 1884, lot 1460." ESTC states: "Originally issued with folded pedigree, which followed the Advertisement, pp.[9-10]; this pedigree was found to contain errors, and was corrected in some copies; Walpole apparently remained dissatisfied with it, and later removed it from the copies still on hand."
