Small 2°, cancel pasted over first stanza on B1 as usual (lower corner of K5 and T8 torn away, paper flaw affecting outer margin of Cc2, very lightly soiled, more so on title and final leaf, a few margins lightly waterstained), contemporary speckled calf, sprinkled edges (rebacked, extremities rubbed, scuff marks on front cover).
FIRST EDITION of the first complete translation of Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata, "done into English heroicall verse," and dedicated to Elisabeth I. STC 23698.
