DARWIN, Charles Robert (1809-1882) Autograph letter signed ('C. Darwin') to an unidentified correspondent, Down, Beckenham, Kent, 28 September [1869?], 2½ pages, 8vo (laid down onto a page from an album with two other autographs on reverse, creased on folds).
Darwin writes in haste to discuss the transport of an unidentified creature. He will send a carrier to collect it but if it must be sent by railway, he asks to be informed at which station it will be arriving; 'Please put a handful of grain in Basket'. A postscript expresses the hope that the recipient will be able to answer a question.
