*A FACTORY ENGRAVED .45 COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER, NO. 304952 FOR 1908
Standard configuration, with hard rubber grips, butt strap marked W.F. & CO., brown leather holster
5½ inch (14 cm.) barrel
Retaining some original patina, with large areas of refinishing especially on frame, mis-matched grips, holster with wear overall
Colt Factory letter confirms configuration noting: "Factory Engraved: "W.F. & Co." engraved on butt of revolver." Further the letter notes shipment to Wells, Fargo Company, New York, New York c/o Mr. W.M. Ashton, on May 11, 1908.
Letter comments that Mr. Ashton was in charge of the Supply Department for Wells, Fargo from 1888 until 1910.
