A RARE ELABORATE GUSTAVE YOUNG ENGRAVED AND INSCRIBED SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 SECOND ISSUE REVOLVER, CIRCA 1860
Sighted octagonal barrel with German-silver fore-sight, engraved at muzzle with scrolls and on lug with scrolls terminating in Eagle-heads, gold washed frame with scrolls with finely stippled grounds, featuring a dog's-head and flowers throughout, inscribed on backstrap BERN L. BUDD, mother-of-pearl grips with horn cap, within a good reproduction oak case with mother-of-pearl tools and cartridge block

Some spotting and some wear to gold finish otherwise retains much original condition, left grip panel broken. (2)
