Lot Essay

The present drawing could be related to two pictures of the Baptism of Christ: one with half-length figures in the church of San Pietro in Modena with the same position of the hands as in the present drawing and another in the church of San Paolo in Bologna (fig. 1) showing the figures full-length, but the hands in the reverse of the present drawing.
