A shadow agate snuff bottle
19th Century
of rounded rectangular form, the stone of honey tone, carved in relief using the white inclusions with a standing horse tethered to a post, the reverse carved using darker inclusions with a monkey seated on a branch holding a fruit spray, with its head turned looking up at a bird in flight, coral and gilt metal stopper -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) high, (minor wear).
